Makoto Kawakami 

Makoto Kawakami is a Documentary Photographer, based in The Netherlands. He studied for a BA in International Relations at University in Japan.

2009, He had started to work at Family Photo Studio in Japan and also coverage for a Landmine Victims and HIV Orphans in Cambodia.

He worked for various Japanese Magazines and Newspaper like DAYS JAPAN, Nikkei Newspaper, Nikkei Business Online, Nikkei MJ, Journalism (Asahi Newspaper), Asahi camera.

 

He covers a wide range of assignments from social issues, sports, food, news for international publications and NGOs.

Born in Saitama Prefecture in 1985. Documentary photographer. Started working as a freelance photographer in 2012 after working as a photo studio photographer and bridal photographer.  

Participated in DAYS JAPAN 3rd photojournalist school, Udaan School of Photography workshop in Mumbai, India, Shabi Photo Documentary Workshop (7th, 2014).
